I’ve been mixing tapes and CDs for close to 15 years now, and of all of them I’m certain this is the one I’ll hold most dear. I have included many of my all-time favourite artists and producers on this one; the selection of tracks was painstaking and took me months to compile. The amount of classic records that did not make it on to this CD is staggering and really is testament to the depth of talent in contemporary soul music. Perhaps one day there will be a “Volume Two”, and I’ll be sure to mix those up for you too. For me, these tunes encapsulate my musical upbringing and are some of the best tracks ever recorded. I’ve never enjoyed a mix quite as much as this one and I hope you enjoy it too. V
